Task 1 Legal Framework of ICT in ESO
Why ICT in ESO?
Nowadays, we live in the midst of a technological revolution: we handle information and technology devices that we couldn’t imagine in the past. The way we live and work has totally changed and a series of new capacities and abilities have come out. Abilities needed to grow and integrate ourselves into the adult life, in a super-connected society and in a constant and increasing change.
So, students, as digital naive, need virtual interactive applications in order to access to a great quantity of information and to acquire the abilities needed to use this technology properly.
For that reason, in the Real Decreto 1105/2014, there are several parts where the constant use of ICT in our current education system are collected. The first articles establish that Information and Communications Technology (ICT) shall be part of the syllabus of every subject, that means that they are a transveral skill of our syllabus. The ICTs are part of the following subjects of ESO and Bachillerato:

- Historia del mundo contemporáneo
- Lengua castellana y literatura
- Literatura universal
- Matemáticas
- Lenguas extranjeras
- Química
- Tecnología
- Cultura científica
- Cultura clásica
- Educación física
- Educación plástica, visual y audiovisual
- Imagen y sonido
- Lengua y prácticas musical
- Tecnología industrial
- Tecnologías de la información y la comunicación
Likewise, it should be included curricular elements related to any risk situation that may emerge from an inappropriate use of the ICTs.
As we have already said before, ICT are also an optional subject in 4th of ESO, 1st and 2nd of Bachillerato. This subject tries to provide the students with knowledge, skills and aptitudes so that they could learn to learn and adapt themselves to any future request in the ICT's field.
